Getting Started

Welcome! Work through this checklist in your first few days to get set up and ready for the course. None of it takes long, and it will save you stress later.

  Get on Piazza

  You are auto-enrolled. All announcements, questions, and answers happen here. Turn on notifications so you never miss an update. Open Piazza

  Log into Gradescope

  You submit every quiz and assignment here. You are auto-enrolled, but if you do not see the course, post on Piazza. Open Gradescope

  Read the syllabus

  Skim the whole thing, then read two parts closely: how you are graded and the late policy. Quizzes get no late credit and assignments have only a short grace period, so the dates matter.

  Start Reading 1 now

  It is the longest reading of the term, so do not save it for the night before the quiz. Open Reading 1

  Sign up for a project group

  The final project is done in groups of 3-4, grouped by time zone. Add your name, email, and time zone to the group sign-up sheet, then email your TA. See how groups work for the details.

  Find your way around

  Everything lives on this site. All quizzes and assignments are released in Week 1, so you can work at your own pace by each due date. Jump to the course calendar and skim the assignments.
