Joining the Class Late

Summer sessions move fast. If you added COGS 9 after it started, work through this checklist right away so you do not fall behind. None of it takes long.

Want full credit for Week 1 work? Let the course staff know on Piazza before the end of Week 2, so we do not count your early work as late. See the late policy for details.

Your catch-up checklist

  1. Get on Piazza. Announcements, questions, and answers all happen on Piazza. Make sure you can see the class and turn on notifications. It is the fastest way to reach staff and classmates.

  2. Check you are on Gradescope. Every quiz and assignment is submitted on Gradescope. You are auto-enrolled, but if you do not see the course, post on Piazza or email your TA, and we will add you.

  3. Find a project group. The final project is done in groups of 3-4, grouped by time zone.
    • Add your name, email, and time zone to the group sign-up sheet.
    • Email your TA to help place you. Include your name, email, time zone, and whether you already have teammates.

  4. Start the first assignment and readings now. These come due first, so do not wait:
